ASSISTANT COSTUME SHOP SUPERVISOR
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Assistant Costume Shop Supervisor for our 2025 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April and November.
Ideal Candidate must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Excellent cutting and stitching skills are a must.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
This position reports directly to Costume Shop Supervisor
Assists with builds, draping, patterning, cutting additional pieces as needed with assistance from shop staff
Assist with stitching, alterations and maintenance as needed in preparation and during each show's run
Attends fittings to assist and take notes for Costume Shop Supervisor when needed
Assists in planning and leading load-in/strike as necessary
Assists in maintaining a communicative and cohesive shop staff
May be required to cover wardrobe track should a wardrobe assistant need to call out last-minute
Assists Costume Shop Supervisor with Final Archival Bibles and documentation
Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel while assisting actors, staff, and designer in execution of duties as assigned
Job requires ability to lift, carry, move costumes and necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions
Assist with Arts Academy as needed
Unconventional hours may be required
Position is a W2, $21 /hr plus overtime and housing
Ogunquit Playhouse offers Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee’s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the entire Ogunquit Playhouse’s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
