AUDIO Supervisor
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Audio Supervisor for our 2025 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April and November.
Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented, organized and focused in a fast paced working environment. Experience reading cable plots, and routine equipment maintenance are imperative.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to)…
Hang, focus and cable rented audio equipment, and determine cable paths for each audio plot creating paperwork and pre-load in planning
Collaborate with Sound Designer to order, receive, check in and acquire necessary rental equipment needed per show basis and for Season rental
Work with Production Manager to return all rental equipment at the end of each run and at end of season
Pre-production work and planning with Sound Designer and other production departments
Pre-production cable, speaker, and advance sound planning and rental procurement ahead of load-in’s, working with Sound Designer to ensure all requests are made ahead of load-in as requested
Supervision of Audio Team and small team of overhires
Schedule and plan weekly work calls
Repair and maintenance of owned audio equipment, keeping an updated inventory list on Google Drive on status of repairs/equipment out
Attend production meetings for Mainstage and Arts Academy shows
Maintain all show documentation and maintenance for all shows
Final show documentation updated and provided to Production Manager for each show
Managing and reporting production audio budget, including monthly reconciliation reports
Maintaining and organizing Audio Department inventory and infrastructure, including data entry into an asset manager
Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary
Possess a strong understanding of Sound System Signal Flow and Operation
Possess an expert understanding of Dante sound networking and operation
Highly skilled in soldering cable, speaker rigging/hanging, and Signal Patching
Musical theatre line-by-line mixing experience and proficiency (The A1 will primarily mix the Mainstage shows, but the Audio Supervisor will also learn the mix to cover as necessary)
Knowledge of A1 and A2 workflow with the expectation to cover those positions when necessary
Strong wireless systems understanding, including software, firmware, and networking knowledge
Capable of utilizing Hellerman Tools, Multi-Meters, and can demonstrate understanding of wireless element rigging
Must be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively
Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew
X-train to run performance tracks for A1 & A2 positions
Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary
Proficiency in the safe use of ladders, lifts, hard hats and fall arrest equipment
Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Unconventional hours may be required. Must be able to work overnights for Tech Weeks (typically four 12-hr days) for each production
Necessary Skills
QLab 4+
Yamaha CL Series
Dante Level 3 Certificate
Experience with Meyer Sound systems and software
Experience with Shure Wireless Workbench
Experience with Sennhieser WSM
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Working understanding of general networking
Working knowledge of ClearCom analog communications systems and FreeSpeak wireless coms
Working knowledge of Aviom band monitoring systems
Potential design opportunity
Design Sound/mix for shows with Arts Academy for an additional stipend.
Position is a W2, $25 /hr plus overtime and housing

Ogunquit Playhouse offers Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee’s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the entire Ogunquit Playhouse’s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
