Arts Academy Teaching Artists Artistic

Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy in Ogunquit, ME is seeking enthusiastic, qualified, Teaching Artists for their 2025 Summer programming. The Arts Academy dedicates itself to the continuing development of programming that will both teach and inspire youth looking to follow a path in the Arts. Especially interested in Artists with experience in all aspects of theatre, Directing, Choreographing, Music Directing, Stage Management, Props, Costumes, Audio, Lights, and Design. Employment dates are June 16 to August 24.

Ideal Candidate is charged with helping to grow the student’s self-confidence and creativity while also helping them to develop advanced skills in leadership, communication, responsibility, collaboration, and problem-solving skills essential to their success both on stage, in school, and in daily life.

Qualifications

  • Execute a top-notch, first class show in keeping with the Ogunquit Playhouse Brand supported by a team of professionals

Arts Academy Stage Managers Artistic

Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy in Ogunquit, ME is seeking enthusiastic, Non-Union Stage Managers for their 2025 Summer programming. The Arts Academy dedicates itself to the continuing development of programming that will both teach and inspire youth looking to follow a path in the Arts. Stage Managers will report to Education Director, Joyce A. Presutti, scheduled by the Playhouse Production Manager and responsible for providing support all shows, presentations, and events. Dates of employment are June 15 through August 25.

Ideal Candidate must have strong leadership skills while remaining detail-oriented, forward thinking, and efficient in a fast-paced working environment. Past Theatrical Stage Management or Assistant Stage Management experience is required. Prior children’s theatre experience is preferred but not required.

  • Working closely with OP Production Managers and Arts Academy Production Manager, liaising as necessary to schedule changeovers, load-in/load-out and show crew scheduling

  • Assist with managing the Artistic and Technical needs for each Arts Academy production

  • In conjunction with the Arts Academy Production Manager, act as a contact for all Arts Academy designers and creative team members, helping to ensure design deadlines are met for Arts Academy shows, up to 2 Main Stage shows and 5 smaller shows in our Colony

  • Attend all Arts Academy Production meetings

  • Be able to call a show, run rehearsal both in the rehearsal studio and be able to take the lead during technical rehearsals

  • Schedule and run rehearsals, keeping all blocking and tracking sheets up to date

  • Communicate the director’s wishes to designers and staff

  • Coordinate the backstage crew in conjunction with the Arts Academy Production Manager

  • Oversee the entire show for all performances

  • Make sure rehearsal props and furnishings are available for the actors as they become available

Deputy Director of Advancement Administrative/Front of House

Summary

The Deputy Director of Advancement (DDA) partners with the Director of Advancement and key funders, to plan and implement a coordinated fundraising plan. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, they serve as a key partner in achieving the strategic goals and vision for philanthropy at Ogunquit Playhouse. The DDA manages a portfolio of gift prospects and actively solicits gifts for priority program areas. Additionally, the DDA oversees the day-to-day operations for the Annual Fund, donor services, and the Ambassador program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In partnership with the Director of Advancement, develop and implement fundraising strategies in support of core programmatic areas. Manage fundraising strategy, operations plan and timeline, and develop processes to monitor overall progress.

  • Oversee Advancement Coordinator and Advancement Associate. Provide the guidance and coaching necessary to advance the annual fundraising campaigns and their goals.
    Lead department stewardship efforts to engage with current donors and cultivate highly rated prospects to secure transformative gifts. Partner in growth of marquee fundraisers, meetings, and cultivation events.
  • Identify the theater’s funding needs and supervise prospect research to create a portfolio of diverse corporate and foundation funding sources.
  • Manage a robust portfolio (minimum of 50) of donors and gift prospects actively soliciting them personally and coordinating trustee engagement in the solicitation process.
  • With the Director of Advancement create a master annual fundraising plan for the Playhouse, including a detailed revenue budget, solicitation calendar and event strategies as necessary—that achieves revenue growth and supports major artistic projects each year.
  • Prepare and write donor correspondence, proposals, strategy memos, donor/prospect profiles and meeting briefings as needed.
  • With DofA, manage all Capital Campaign-focused events, manage invitations, work with internal teams on logistics, and oversee campaign expense budget.
  • Participate in department budget planning, goal setting, and strategic planning to assist with the creation of the annual operating plans.
  • Facilitate and coordinate communication between departments across the organization to further Ogunquit Playhouse’s fundraising objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Deputy Director of Advancement will also assist in creating and will ultimately oversee Ogunquit Playhouse’s new Ambassadors program. They will collaborate with the Director of Advancement on the strategy and engagement of Ogunquit Playhouse Ambassadors, a donor volunteer group that seeks to expand the theater’s donor base.

  • Steward Ambassadors and grow their investment by planning committee meetings, special events, and educating them on theatre programs, impact, and tracking goals for prospect development.
  • Support Ambassadors in hosting and soliciting their networks to support the theater.
  • Recruit new Ambassadors and track their engagement and effectiveness.
  • Work with DofA to promote connection between Board of Directors and Ambassadors.

Qualifications

Ogunquit Playhouse seeks a leader of consummate integrity, an accurate and confident sense of self, excellent judgment, an entrepreneurial spirit, courage of convictions, dogged determination, and a sense of humor.

  • Superior relationship-building and communication skills are required.
  • Open and transparent management style is preferred, with a minimum of 6 years in a management role.
  • History of collaboration that leads to strong, symbiotic relationships.
  • Previous, successful experience working directly with Board members is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Maine philanthropic marketplace a plus, but not required.
  • While personal experience in theater management is not required, the ideal candidate will be intellectually curious about theatre.

Audio Supervisor Artistic

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Audio Supervisor for our 2025 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April and November.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented, organized and focused in a fast paced working environment. Experience reading cable plots, and routine equipment maintenance are imperative.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to)…

  • Hang, focus and cable rented audio equipment, and determine cable paths for each audio plot creating paperwork and pre-load in planning
  • Collaborate with Sound Designer to order, receive, check in and acquire necessary rental equipment needed per show basis and for Season rental
  • Work with Production Manager to return all rental equipment at the end of each run and at end of season
  • Pre-production work and planning with Sound Designer and other production departments
  • Pre-production cable, speaker, and advance sound planning and rental procurement ahead of load-in’s, working with Sound Designer to ensure all requests are made ahead of load-in as requested
  • Supervision of Audio Team and small team of overhires
  • Schedule and plan weekly work calls
  • Repair and maintenance of owned audio equipment, keeping an updated inventory list on Google Drive on status of repairs/equipment out
  • Attend production meetings for Mainstage and Arts Academy shows
  • Maintain all show documentation and maintenance for all shows

  • Managing and reporting production audio budget, including monthly reconciliation reports

  • Knowledge of A1 and A2 workflow with the expectation to cover those positions when necessary
  • Strong wireless systems understanding, including software, firmware, and networking knowledge
  • Capable of utilizing Hellerman Tools, Multi-Meters, and can demonstrate understanding of wireless element rigging

  • Reports to Audio Supervisor
  • Mix each Mainstage performance (8-9 shows per week). Qualified candidate must have substantial experience mixing large musicals (25+ person casts, 6-10 piece bands) using the
  • Broadway-standard “line-by-line” DCA/VCA/CG mixing style
  • In collaboration with the Sound Designer, A1 will program the sound console for each production. – Qualified candidate must have substantial experience programming Yamaha CL Series consoles for “line-by-line” mixing
  • Collaborate closely with Sound Designer(s), Director(s), and Artistic Director to achieve the desired mix for each show and maintain the intention and integrity of the Sound Design throughout the run of the show
  • Assist in the Hang, Focus and Cable Runs of Audio Equipment, and determine cable paths for each audio plot with the Audio Supervisors direction
  • Receive, check in and help Audio Supervisor acquire necessary rental equipment needed per show basis and for Season rental

  • Ability to work overnights for Tech Weeks (typically four 12-hr days) for each production

Scenic Electrics Supervisor Artistic

Ideal Candidate

Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required. Prior scene shop experience is a plus.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to)…

  • Reports to Technical Director
  • Work closely with the Associate Lighting Designer, Scenic Designers, and Head Electrician to technically design, plan, cost, and build show-specific elements and effects
  • Coordinate with the Technical Director and Scene Shop to plan and schedule installation of electrics into scenic elements
  • Intermediate soldering skills (for LED tape, etc) required
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical theory and mathematics for calculating loads
  • Provide final documentation of set electrics including hookups and schematics
  • Technical support for set electrics during rehearsals and tech
  • Execute installation and cabling for set electrics during changeover
  • Additional hours running events and Arts Academy shows

Foster and maintain a positive and productive work environment backstage, in dressing rooms, and in wardrobe rooms

This strategic position is responsible for the coordination of all Wigs, Hair, and Makeup in Ogunquit Playhouse’s season, with some design opportunities, while developing and maintaining a cognitive, and cohesive shop staff.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to)…

  • Supervision of entire shop and of Wig/Hair & Make-Up Assistants
  • Oversee all in-house built pieces, and contracted built pieces to ensure timely delivery and fittings
  • Act as Wig Coordinator for any rental packages
  • Maintenance of budget and purchase/return reconciliation
  • Arrange/attend fittings and take notes
  • Promote an equitable work environment by continued education and trainings
  • Travel as necessary for fittings during New York City rehearsal processes
  • Work in collaboration with guest designers, creative teams, and production crew for ultimate show appearance.Note shows during tech processes as able
  • Assist load-in/load-out, packing, and organizing of wigs or rental packages for each run
  • Supervise purchasing of wig, hair and make-up shop materials, supplies and equipment
