EVENING CUSTODIAL associate

 
Ogunquit Playhouse (Ogunquit, ME)
seeks a team member for our evening shift from 3:30pm to 11:30pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Off Monday and Tuesday. This Full Time Seasonal position will run from April – October. Duties include attending to trash collection, recycling, restrooms, dressing rooms, theaters and lobby, as well as event setup and teardown. Assistance with parking and front of house duties and maintaining of the theater and property during performances. Our custodial staff are important members of our team, caring for and maintaining the beauty and charm of our historic property. Custodians ensure cleanliness and detailing of our Playhouse, buildings and campus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable both working independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities

  • General knowledge of cleaning products and their safe application is necessary

  • Ability to take direction, and apply gained experience to daily tasks

  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions

  • Must be able to spend the majority of the day walking, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and reaching overhead

  • Lifting of objects up to 50lbs

Work Environments

  • Exposed to a combination of building, theater, office, lodging, and workshop environments

  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, janitorial/ maintenance supplies

  • Facilities staff may need to work in varying weather conditions, extreme heat over 90 degrees or freezing below 0, rain, heavy winds, torrential downpours, or snow

  • It could be necessary to perform tasks in various work environments, such as flat hard surfaces, rocky, steep hills, wet grounds, grass areas, steep stairs, heights, dust, and dirt

Compensation is $18 /hour

Ogunquit Playhouse now offers Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly, covering 75% of employee’s company-sponsored Health insurance premiums. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
